Ever since I got back from Minnesota I have been SLAMMED with busy work. As you know, Thomas and I decided to move in together. We decided to paint the apartment before we moved in (much easier), so we literally painted for three days STRAIGHT, sunrise to sunset. The place is huge so it took us that whole time. Then I furiously packed as fast as I could and we made the big move on Saturday. Luckily I had a slew of friends help us!
The past five days have been non-stop unpacking, organzing, cleaning, etc. I am EXHAUSTED! But the place is unbelievably beautiful. I'm really happy with the way it turned out.
My sister visits tomorrow for the Memorial Day Weekend. We plan to BBQ and go to the beach a LOT.
I wanna go to sleep now. |

I'm coming back to Minnesota for a quick weekend. I don't really have much time for one-on-one socializing, but I will be at the following events if you care to see me.
THURS MAY 7th:
The Ritz Theater VENUS the Musical by Chan Poling (my dad!) www.venusmusical.com
I'll be attending the opening night of my dad's musical. Get your tickets now whether or not you can attend Thurs. It's a must see!
FRI MAY 8th:
I'll be at blasphemina's fashion show at Ground Zero.
SAT MAY 9th: That's my mother's day, ya'll. The whole day is reserved for mum.
SUN I fly out early morning. |

Well, I succeeded in sliding into my 27's with quiet grace. I didn't want to make a big hulabaloo this year for my birthday. Last year was such a celebration and next year it's going to be outrageous seeing that it's my GOLDEN birthday. Now, I realized living out here in LA that not everyone knows what a golden birthday is. When you turn the correct year that matches the day date you were born such as: I'm turning 28 on April 28th. Understand?
So this year I had a mellow house party at Thomas's apartment. Friends came over and we ate snacks, drank and were merry for a few hours and then everyone went home. That's it. Simple. Awesome.
For my real birthday, my friend Megan treated me to the best burger at The Habit for lunch, where we then proceeded to go shopping and get massages. It was blissful. Thomas then treated me to a delicious dinner at Cafe Stella in Silverlake. It's a cute french bistro where we had steak tartar and coq au vin. Finished off with bread pudding...yum! On our drive back, he mentioned he didn't get me a present of any sorts. He thoughts providing his place for the party and taking me out to dinner was enough. He also explained that in Europe it's not really customary to give gifts on birthdays, only Christmas and such. Sure enough when I got home, I saw a package wrapped up on the bed...that little brat. Inside were these German language books that I was dying to buy so i can learn German and be able to speak to his family that's coming to visit in July. I have three months to learn....ummm, go!
All in all, a wonderful birthday. |

Thomas and I have decided to move in together. After a few months of thinking about it, I decided I was comfortable with the idea. Thomas has been asking me to move in since February, which is nice to know that he's confident enough with the relationship to want to move in together. Scorpios crave their privacy at times, so like I said, I thought about it and weighed options and really came to the conclusion that there's no reason to wait. We're going to be hitting six months soon and face of the matter, I want to be with him, so why not try living together. It's the ultimate test and if we survive it...then go us! I'm going into it with a very clear head and no fantasy attached, whatsoever.
We found a really beautiful, spacious 2 bedroom apartment in the Hollywood Hills. It has a great kitchen, modern bathroom, quiet back patio and very large front balcony. There's tons of sunlight, large windows and a really outstanding neighborhood.
...and it's so affordable! No way in my life could I afford to live in this place normally, but since the renter's market is so terrible in LA, we have the power. The landlord wanted a high price and we dropped it $400 per month and he took it! I couldn't believe it!
So, I'm happy to say that once again I'll be moving in LA, but this time hopefully for a longer time than a year.
BONUS: I have a guest bedroom now. Perfect for visits!Noise: True Blood Soundtrack

After years of making shaking, no budget spoofs, ripping off the money-making pop culture icons, I've been reported!
My Twilight Spoof was removed from You Tube this morning due to copyright infringement. The video was reported by Summit Entertainment who distributes the rights to the film. This is FANTASTIC! Not only was a I really not proud of my Twilight video, but it's popularity was out of control. The vicious comments from Twilight-lovers were equally balanced by praise and laud from people who can't stand the film.
The fact that Summit Entertainment took the time to watch my video, become so offended and then report it really makes my day. I'M MAKING WAVES IN HOLLYWOOD!Attitude: amused Noise: Depeche Mode

WHAT IS GOING ON!?!
I've had several friends contact me in the past month telling me they were laid off and if I knew of any work. This is crazy! I seriously fear for everyone in the nation. Despite my complaints about my job, I am happy to be working. And I just got two more job offers, so things are looking good for me, but I can't help but feel a tinge of guilt as I move forward, I see people fall behind.
I really wish the best for you all and I plan to help everyone I can, one person at a time. Just please be patient and soon I'll be producing my own film/show and I can hire EVERYONE.
Please hold on for me.Attitude: anxious Noise: Rihanna

So, I forgot to mention that last weekend the imposter created a fake Facebook Profile using all my content and pictures and proceeded to add all my friends. I became suspicious when people started texting me asking why I had two FB profiles.
Needless to say, I reported the fake profile to FB and they deleted him, but still. This is progressing to a new level of creepiness. Especially cause I could see him writing on my friend's walls as "me".
Anyway, lots has been going on. Last night I saw the musical "MINSKY'S" at the Ahmenson with Thomas. It was so much fun. I recommend it to any that love big, showy musicals. It's all about burlesque!
Tons more to post about, but I must leave you and I'll leave you with these!!

I'm going to try and spew out a fast fast recap of all my Christmas activity. Now in bullet-point!
-Sunday the 21st was my Los Angeles Christmas. After attending many many MANY holiday parties, Thomas and I went to a Hanukkah party at his friend Ron's house. We ate latkes, sufganiyots, and played with the Dreidel and lit the Menroah. Oy Vey!
Ron and his wife Doreet (and me in the background, looking voyeuristic)
Later that night Thomas and I shared our own Christmas where we opened presents, ate some cookies and watched a movie ("Edward Scissorhands"). In his Austrian tradition, Thomas covered the tree in candles and sparklers. I was so nervous!

My presents from him were extremely sweet: 1) A German Lesson CD that he recorded himself with such phrases as "Merry Christmas", "You are sexy" and "I am missing you". 2) 10 sealed envelopes with the dates marked of all the days I was in Minnesota, so I could open one each day and find a sexy picture of him. Loved that. 3) A travel book of Thailand (which I really want to visit this year!)
-Monday 22nd thru Jan 1st, I spent my time in the mid-west between Minnesota, Madison and Chicago. I saw many great friends and fun family members. Christmas happened. I ate lots of food (mainly meat and potatoes, where are the fruits and veggies in MN??). I made a snow angel and a snow man, which actually became a snow woman. i named her "Fern".

-I spent three fun days in Chicago where I stayed at the 'W' on Lakeshore with my friend Charley and saw two good friends from college, Lauren and Laura. The weekend was oddly balmy and extremely cold the next day. Saw downtown, boystown and the new millennium park.

-When I returned to Minnesota, I saw my dad's band "The New Standards" perform at The Dakota Jazz Club. It was packed! And lastly I spent New Year's Eve with my mom and step-father. We started out at the Gaust Haus (this great German restaurant where my mom, me and both my sisters worked at). And the evening ended with champagne, frozen pizza and a Britney dance party. Whee!

-Since I've returned to LA, I spent a beautiful day in Malibu with Thomas, went to my fav dance club, Bootie LA, watched a bunch of Gossip Girl Season 1 and had some delicious meals. It's good to be back home in LA.

This weekend was all about Christmas Parties. Friday was an easy work day as my boss made me attend this Industry Luncheon in the valley which ate up about 3 hours of my afternoon (a-ok with me). Then he brought me shopping with him for about an hour then brought me back to the studio where I did a little work before being swept away by the production designer to help set up for her holiday party that night. Her and her husband own the Bauer Pottery Company and I attended their Holiday party in their new warehouse space.

It was beautiful! The party was a tad dull however as it was mostly co-workers and all we really talked about was work. I helped clean up and got home (exhausted) by 10:00pm. I was supposed to attend the Instinct Magazine Leading Men Party later that night, but I was way tired and just wanted to snuggle in and sleep.
Mr. A and I had plans to spend the night watching Gossip Girl. I made breakfast and we were super lazy, watched more Gossip Girl, napped, did a little shopping, ate dinner and napped before going to more holiday parties. The first was by toy-maker, Tobias Trost (of "Wannabe Superhero" fame). He and his husband Michael live in the cutest house in Silverlake. The party was attended by even cuter, fun, sassy people in their holiday sweaters and heels. The snacks were yummy and the eggnog was delicious. We spent an hour or two chatting with new friends and received a tour of the house and his toy studio (he makes action figures http://www.imatoy.com). Afterward, we left for West Hollywood where his friend Andy was throwing an enormous party. Her entire apartment complex opens their courtyard and dec it out with lights, fake snow, booze and a DJ booth. I met a ton of Thomas' friends and they all told me I was super hot. HAHA! Those blind fools.

Sunday I woke up late, did laundry, cleaned my place and made puppy chow! Lucky Legendary was having their 2nd Annual Christmas Party and I wanted to share a midwestern delight. The party was so much fun. I showed up at Jenny's Apartment to help decorate and ended up cleaning and decorating for 3 hours right until people started showing up. It was very small and very "just legends", but a total blast. I love my company and the group of people I work with.
( Party Pix )
And then we started to play Truth or Dare Jenga. This turned dangerous and we lost a lot of clothing. Beware pics behind the cut.
( me in my undies! )
A festive fun weekend indeed!Attitude: amused Noise: Xmas Music

A passage from John Welwood's book *Perfect Love, Imperfect Relationships: Healing the Wound of the Heart*:
"Everyone knows perfect love in their heart, for the human heart is a direct channel through which absolute love pours into this world. At the same time, human relationships are imperfect expressions of that love. This creates a painful gap between the perfect love we know in our hearts and the imperfect, incomplete ways it is expressed in our relationships. When we imagine that relative human love should be something it is not -- absolutely unconditional -- we suffer disappointment and wind up distrusting love itself. We also hold grievances against others for not loving us rightly or against ourselves for not having won that love. This gives rise to a universal human wound -- the sense of not feeling loved for who we are." Attitude: curious Noise: Winter Wonderland

One word comes to mind while we face yet another strike in the Entertainment Business.
Selfish.
How selfish can a group of people be to think that striking during such an economic crisis is a wise decision? There is no question that there are new negotiations to be made regarding SAG contracts. The industry is changing completely. I understand that. But to vote 'yes' on a strike is probably one of the most selfish moves one can do and promotes the self-centered, egotistical stigma actors already have. You are not the only ones suffering. Every single "below-the-line" crew member suffers much greater than your already bloated salaries. The make-up artists that make you look good, the gaffers that light you perfectly, the art directors that create your character's world beautifully, even the craft service person that orders your favorite crackers...we all suffer.
Now is not the time for a strike. Vote NO on the SAG Strike.Attitude: annoyed Noise: White Christmas

Every year California burns. EVERY year. And every year it's tragic and every year people lose homes and yet...people continue to build new homes...in the hills...that burn...every year. Does anyone else see a pattern????
I hate this time of year in Los Angeles. When everyone back home gets to bust out their warm scarves and mittens, I suffer 90 degree weather with skies covered in smoke and ash. While others get to drink hot apple cider and warm pumpkin pies, I just want some water to wash the taste of burning out of my mouth which sweating through my t-shirt. They get beautiful first snow falls, I get to brush ash flakes out of my hair. Stupid "fall" season in LA. Hates it!
This weekend was a relaxing one. Friday night I met with a potential photographer for an upcoming Lucky Legendary shoot then went home and relaxed all evening. Saturday, I woke up early and went downtown for the Prop 8 Protest Rally. I went alone, knowing that I would easily bump into friends as everyone I knew was attending. Sure enough, 3 stops on an overcrowded subway car, my friend Charley walked in. Then as we were getting off the train, our friend Florian was on the car behind us. It was so great just running into friends so easily cause the massive crowd in front of City Hall made finding people impossible.
( pics )
Yet, I still ran into so many great friends. Charley, Flo, Michael, Roger, Aman, Ian, Reed, Joe, Daniel. To friends that were down there that I didn't see, Jarrod, Owen, Patrick, Andrew, etc, sorry I missed you!
I spent the rest of the day relaxing. Ian came over and I made some dinner and we watched Tarsem's "The Fall". Visually beautiful, but totally choppy story-telling. Not my favorite film.
Sunday I woke up early and cleaned my bathroom. It was totally the highlight of my weekend as my bathroom was the nast. It looks beautiful! Later I met up with friends for brunch, then laid by the pool, sat in the hot tub, had a few cocktails and napped at home. Woke up in time to catch the new James Bond with Olivier. |

Last weekend Olivier and I road tripped it out to Las Vegas! Wahooo!
Awhile back, my friend Joe invited me to Vegas to see Madonna in concert. Who was I to deny such an offer?! So I happily rented a car and brought Olivier with me. It was his birthday on Saturday, so he was all about celebrating in Vegas.
Joe is an incredibly generous friend. Not only did he supply me with the Madonna ticket (face value $375!), but scored Oli and I a suite at ( The Excalibur. )
We started out the night by meeting Joe, his bf George and his best friend from Michigan Katie at THE Hotel (near Mandalay Bay). It's a new building that is absolutely stunning. The design inside was beautiful, the top floor restaurant amazing and the nighclub was incredible. What was the best was the view.

Afterward, we hit up some lame clubs and danced until 5:00am. The next morning we slept in, layed out by the pool and had the All You Can Eat Buffet.

Later that night was Madonna! Oli didn't have a ticket, so Joe treated us to drinks and eats at the Bellagio beforehand. We had champagne and cavier...it was awesome. Joe, Katie, George and I headed to the concert. It was PACKED and we were pretty drunk. After champagne, liquor and beer, I was coasting happily into the massive gay crowd and partied with these Albuquerque mom's who loved grinding up on me during the show.
( Madonna Pics! )
After the concert Olivier and I went clubbing some more, slept in that morning and checked out. On our drive back we stopped at a salt lake bed location I shot at for a short film and took pictures. This is just me on a rock.

I feel like I've just woken up after being asleep for 8 years. The groggy haze of the past eight years all of a sudden became clear and I smiled an enormous smile last night as they announced the results.
The nightmare is over.
I'm proud to be an American again.
And I was so happy to spend the evening celebrating with friends. I couldn't stop hugging my friend Thomas. I just wouldn't let him go. I was just so happy and moved by both McCain and Obama's speeches. I just took a part in a monumental moment in American History.Attitude: cheerful Noise: Destiny's Child
